BOTTOM LINE: WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT MONEY (ATB PANEL)

The entrepreneurial journey is complex. Every business is as unique as the woman behind it. Still, despite all the differences that exist, what stands true for every business owner, is that every situation they encounter, and decision made along the way, will have a financial impact both on a personal and business level. Businesses don’t start without money. They don’t grow without money. And they don’t survive without financial management.

For any business owner, money isn’t just about meeting numbers or the bottom line; it’s what the numbers afford. Money is the means by which we meet our obligations. It’s the means by which we assess risk. It’s the means by which we measure our own confidence when chasing our dreams. And most importantly, it is the means that allows us to protect the things and people we value most.

As more women enter into entrepreneurship, building financial knowledge and wellness is more important today than ever. And yet, it’s a subject that many women find difficult to talk about.

In this panel discussion our panel of industry and financial experts, we'll explore an honest conversation about the role that money plays, and how to achieve that level of financial clarity so you can truly get the most out of your business and personal life.

Panelists include:

  • Joan Chisholm, Relationship Manager, ATB
  • Nova Kane, Senior Financial Advisor, ATB Investor Services
  • Maura Shaftoe, Insurance Advisor, ATB
  • Sawmteii Plett, Branch Manager, ATB
  • Moderated by Shannon Pestun, Director Women's Entrepreneurship, ATB Financial

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE: THE SECRET TO NAVIGATING COMMUNICATION CHALLENGES

People Impact Performance. Emotions Impact People.

The number one issue most business leaders face is a people issue, not a system or operational one; yet most individuals haven't mastered the art of communicating with customers, teams and stakeholders who are responsible for their success.

Research tells us that emotional intelligence is responsible for up to 80% of the factors that determine how successful you are in business and life. It's not your IQ, education, or experience that are most important, but your ability to recognize, interpret, communicate and manage the emotions of yourself and others.

This interactive workshop is designed to help you:

  • Recognize your emotional triggers and identify how to overpower them.
  • Understand effective strategies to improve the way you communicate, interact and perform in your role.
  • Learn a simple technique to help you take back control when you’re under stress or experiencing conflict.
  • Discover how Emotional Intelligence can be your single biggest ally during negotiations.
